Emulation
I had Erica's piece which is the image below of the athletic woman. She wanted me to portray a woman as a strong, independent, beautiful, human being, and so I made a continuous line drawing of Erica playing basketball. I kept the thick black lines and a single woman figure to make sure the pieces went together.

Emulate This
This is a piece I did for a local band, Modern Suspects, that I interviewed at Not So Silent Night 2014. They have been working really hard to get their music out there and I think there music is really awesome. I suggest you take a listen. They used to be called Claymore Disco and so you can look up there music under both names.
You should try to make this into something with photography or non digital drawing. Try to keep a black and white background and a colored foreground. Good Luck!

Corinne taking a picture of a sculpture and the photo to prove it.

The coolest thing I saw at the art museum was this awesome cardboard installation. It was covering the walls in a small room.

A picture I took of a giraffe at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Photo I made for the 5th graders we worked with today.

A little ghost/night photography that we did today in class.
Day 17

Weave Silk....
Media: Photoshop
I made this for my dad for Valentines day, and I just stuck to the style I had been doing for some of my band artwork.
Media: Photoshop
I was just messing around on Photoshop with the straight lasso tool.
Day 12
Media: Photography
The sky when I left school tonight. I know sunsets are cliche, but the sky was just so beautiful and I love the tree silhouettes.
Day 11
Media: Marker, Pen and paper
I tried some typography, and I think I will try more of it on Photoshop.
Day 10
Media: Photoshop
Here is part six of six. This is Daniel Tichenor who plays the bass guitar, its the last of the mini series and I think it looks great all together.
These are the complete pieces put all together. I tried to think of power positions and color theory when I placed them, and I think it worked out well.
Day 9
Media: Photoshop
Part five of the mini series. This is Jared Champion and he plays the drums for Cage The Elephant. The band didn't win the Grammy which is a bummer, but at least they get to headline red rocks this summer.
Day 8
Media: Photoshop
Part four of the mini series, this is Nick Bockrath and he plays guitar for Cage the Elephant. The band was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album for their album "Melophobia." Hopefully they can win the Grammy.
Day 7
Media: Photoshop
Part three of the mini series of Cage the Elephant. There are six members in the band, so expect to see three more days of this series. Today was Matthan Mister's birthday and so I made his portrait today. He plays the piano, guitar and does back up vocals for the band.
Day 6
Media: Photoshop
This is part two to my mini series of the band members of Cage the Elephant. Its Brad Shultz who plays guitar for the band and is also the older brother of Matt the lead singer.
Day 5
Media: Photoshop
I'm so excited to go see Cage the Elephant, Portugal. the Man and the Mowgli's at Red Rocks June 1st. This is of Matt Shultz, the lead singer in Cage The Elephant and he is always jumping around and being crazy on stage, so I tried to capture that in this piece.
Day 4
Media: Digital Photography
I went on a walk after I got home from school and took a few pictures of the snow around the park and pond behind my house.
Day 3
Media: Photoshop drawing
Bees? I was inspired by the card game Cards Against Humanity and my favorite response card, Bees? I made two bees reflecting each other and added a border to finish it off.
Day 2
Media: Computer drawing, Microsoft paint
I just tried drawing some simple cartoon characters and I messed around with their facial expressions. The cartoon isn't funny, I know.
Day 1
Media: pencil and paper
I decided to do some observational drawing for the first day of the 28 days of art because it's something I know I need to practice but I'm not completely lost when it comes to certain drawing skills. I drew a moccasin that was sitting in my bedroom floor because it has interesting curves and it was one of the first things I saw.Saturday, January 31, 2015
Vivian Maier Reflection 2
I chose this piece to reflect on because I find it really captures the era in which is was taken. It reminds my of photos my family has of my dad and his three younger brothers sitting and looking out of a car window. I love the fact that they are all wearing the same shirt and they are also looking in three different directions. I think Vivian Maier was known for taking some provocative pictures of some of the more odd characters in Chicago, and this is just of three little boys sticking their heads out of a car window. I really enjoy Vivian's work as a whole because of the diversity of her photographs and the way her mental illness isn't really easily seen through her work. Its interesting that the way she was almost fearless when it comes to taking pictures, from photographing dead animals in the streets to the oddly shaped people around the rough city and more beaten down parts of Chicago.

Finding Vivian Maier Reflection
After watching the majority of the documentary I find Vivian Maier very inspiring and incredibly interesting. I love the era in which she lived and all of her photographs are great at representing it.

Block Printing
I really enjoyed the whole block printing process, I loved learning a new media to work on and I think they turned out awesome. The rubber block was pretty easy to work with, but not very forgiving if you made a mistake. My first print is of an axolotl which is a type of aquatic salamander and then my second is a of a peace hand.
